@yamikaa Hello, When someone has Asthma; their airways go into spasm which causes tightness of the chest. The linings of the airways become inflamed and produce phlegm leading to extreme difficulty in breathing. If someone is having an asthma attack, always follow the instructions outlined on their medication. However, if they do not have them to hand, these are the steps to follow.

Help him to sit straight and encourage them to take slow and steady breaths. If they do not start to feel better, they should take more puffs of their reliever inhaler If they do not start to feel better after taking their inhaler as above, or if you are worried at any time, contact the nearest hospital. They should keep taking the reliever inhaler whilst waiting for the paramedics to arrive
      Thanks.

@lana Hello, my advice is if you have been experiencing any type of chronic cough, it is worth having a check-up with a doctor to make sure that you aren’t asthmatic. The asthmatic cough is usually accompanied by a wheezing sound, due to the effect that the condition has on the airways. Inflammation causes them to tighten and narrow, meaning that there is less space for the air to travel through. Whilst a dry, wheezy cough is one sign of this condition, it can become more serious, leading to difficulty breathing. For a dry cough that isn’t going away, it is important to make an appointment with a GP. They can help you to find out the cause, and get you proper treatment. Early treatment is always preferable. A chronic dry cough can be caused by some serious and even fatal conditions, such as heart failure, lung cancer, and pulmonary embolism. Thank You.

@deborah Hello, yes it may help but my advice for you would be that you shouldn't rely on caffeine for asthma symptoms. Caffeine has a variety of pharmacological effects; it is a weak bronchodilator and it also reduces respiratory muscle fatigue. It is chemically related to the drug theophylline which is used to treat asthma. It has been suggested that caffeine may reduce asthma symptoms and interest has been expressed in its potential role as an asthma treatment. Therefore Caffeine relieves the symptoms of asthma, such as wheezing, coughing, and breathlessness.

@manish Hello, Asthma inhalers are the most common and effective way to deliver medicine to your lungs. They’re available in several types that work in different ways. Some deliver one medication. Non-steroid inhalers include montelukast (Singular), zafirlukast (Accolate), and zileuton (Zyflo). Cromolyn prevents your airways from swelling when they come into contact with an asthma trigger. It's a non-steroid medicine that comes in an inhaler. Theophylline (Theo-24, TheoDur) relaxes the smooth muscles that narrow your airways. Consult a doctor before using inhalers. You can try some remedies to treat asthma-like engaging in a breathing exercise. It can lower the amount of medication you need to control your symptoms.
