@ridgley Hello, People with diabetes are also more likely to have other conditions that raise the risk for heart disease like high blood pressure, high cholestrol, and High triglycerides. High blood pressure increases the force of blood through your arteries and can damage artery walls. Excess blood sugar decreases the elasticity of blood vessels and causes them to narrow, impeding blood flow. This can lead to a reduced supply of blood and oxygen, increasing the risk of high blood pressure and damage to large and small blood vessels. High blood pressure is a risk factor for heart disease. Having both high blood pressure and diabetes can greatly increase your risk for heart disease.

@cy Diabetes is a result of your body’s inability to produce or use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that allows your body to turn glucose. High blood sugar levels can affect your body’s ability to heal wounds. I would suggest you take medical help as untreated wounds can quickly progress into an infection or more serious complication. If you get a wound, it’s also important that you eat healthily and exercise. A small scrape can become serious if you don’t take proper care of it and wounds that are left to fester could lead to an amputation in the most serious cases. Thank You.

@ha Hello, Yes excessive thirst is a symptom of diabetes. Excessive thirst is one of the first signs that you might have diabetes. Thirst and having to urinate too often are both caused by too much sugar in your blood. You should look out for other symptoms like red, swollen, or tender gums, slow healing, weight loss. Talk to your doctor as excessive hunger and thirst are the symptoms of diabetes and get him tested. Thank You.

@vijay-kumar Hello, it is not possible to completely avoid sugar. All foods get converted into sugar in the body. Carbs get first, proteins and fats next. So, since some food needs to be eaten for survival, the patient needs to take medicines too in addition to diet control. Some people could reverse their diabetes by diet control (using mostly raw foods or boiled vegetables and leafy foods). Excess sugar intake leads to a buildup of fatty deposits around the liver, which contributes over time to insulin resistance by affecting the functioning of the pancreas. Sugar increases our risk of becoming diabetic because high blood sugar levels are a large part of the diabetes equation. Eating too much sugar spikes blood sugar levels. Over time, high blood sugar levels can cause insulin resistance, which wreaks havoc on your liver, your pancreas, and other organs
