can anyone help me with the dietary advice for type-2 diabetes
Hi, All I m suffering from type-2 diabetes for the past 3 years. I m on medication still don't feel any change. Can anyone suggest to me the diet to be followed for type-2 diabetes...Any suggestions are helpful.
@adhi Encourage high-fibre. include low-fat dairy products and oily fish. Control the intake of foods containing saturated and trans fatty acids. Eat more beans and lentils - eg, kidney beans, butter beans, chickpeas, or red and green lentils.
For adults with type 2 diabetes who are overweight, set an initial body weight loss target of 5-10%.
• Don't use diabetic foods or drinks. Drink alcohol only in moderation.
• Regular physical activity improves insulin resistance and lipid profile (reduction in triglyceride and increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL)) and lowers blood pressure (BP), although BP will rise during exercise. Physical activity also protects against the development of type 2 diabetes.
