Hello, I am a 21 years old female. Is it bad that I have an eating disorder? I want to be skinny. I overeat taking laxatives for quick digestion. My roommate saw me taking a laxative and by seeing my eating habits she told me I should visit a doctor. How to manage an eating disorder? What should I do?

@manasvi Hello, You should never take medicines like laxatives without a doctor's prescription. It is compeletely normal to have it and many people even reover from such disoreders. I think you suffer from Bulimia nervosa. It is an eating disorder in which people binge eat and then try to digest their food by vomiting or taking medicines like laxatives. The primary treatment for bulimia often combines psychotherapy, antidepressants, and nutritional counseling. You can take Cognitive behavioral therapy as it helps you normalize your eating patterns and identify unhealthy, negative beliefs and behaviors and replace them with healthy, positive ones. I would suggest you seek medical help.
