Hello, What is the difference between progesterone and micronized progesterone. Doctor has asked for Progestron tablets but someone suggested me a mocrinized progesterone.
Can anyone tell me the difference between progesterone and micronized progesterone? What is the difference between the two? Which one is better and what are its benefits? Thanks

@illie Hello, Progesterone is a female hormone important for the regulation of ovulation and menstruation. Micronized progesterone is a bioidentical hormone with a molecular structure identical to that of endogenous progesterone produced by the ovary. Synthetic progestins have a different chemical structure from progesterone. Micronized progesterone is better as it has been associated with a lower cardiovascular risk and has a neutral effect on blood pressure compared with synthetic progestogens, which have androgenic activities.
