Symptoms of COVID but tested negative is there still any need to isolate myself?

Hi, I have been suffering from covid symptoms for 2 days so I went for the covid test today but tested negative I have had a fever for a week and lost my smell and taste yesterday and am feeling little congestion in my chest so I want to ask how many days it takes for the result to be positive if we have covid symptoms and since the result is negative for now do I still need to isolate myself?
