Irritable bowel syndrome or functional colopathy??

Hi, I am suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. My family doctor has suggested some pills. I haven't started taking those yet. Whenever I need to go out, I feel abdominal pain, bloating. I would like to know about it and is it similar to functional colopathy?
