@chris Hello, Chilblains are usually a sign of frostbite—extreme cold also impairs blood circulation to your fingers & toes. Another condition that impairs peripheral circulation is Raynaud’s phenomenon—an autoimmune disorder that is often the first sign of a more serious one like scleroderma or lupus. Chilblains, or perniosis, is a condition affecting the fingers and toes, in which blood seeps into the surrounding tissues and causes redness, itching, and inflammation . An autoimmune disease/disorder is one in which your immune system goes haywire and makes your body attack itself usually slowly, but COVID does that suddenly. Those “chilblains” in COVID patients are also known as COVID toes/fingers.
