Psoriatic arthritis is a type of inflammatory arthritis. Psoriatic arthritis can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness in and around joints. It typically causes affected joints to become inflamed (swollen), stiff and painful. Symptoms usually develop slowly and many people are unaware that they are developing psoriatic arthritis.
