    • RE: Is it common to have sore armpits during pregnanacy?

@rasme Hello, pregnant women have been known to get concerned over what they think are swollen lymph nodes but in fact are special tissue (located anywhere between the armpit and the groin) that are gearing up for milk production. They can become tender and swollen but will atrophy and go away eventually. If you have swollen glands while pregnant and you’re unsure of what it is, talk to your doctor. It is always a good idea to talk to a doctor.

    • RE: Remedies for swollen ankles.

@naagarjun You can try some exercises which will help you in reducing swelling like lying down and elevating the feet. Moving only the feet, point your toes up towards your head, and then down away from your head. Go back and forth 30 times, completing this exercise three times per day. Also, Puting ice on the swollen area as soon as you can for 15 to 20 minutes. Then repeat every three to four hours. If it doesn't get better then talk to your doctor. Thanks!!

    • RE: Impact of exercise on mental health.

@omee Hello, Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal. whatever you are feeling I am glad you reach out to your doctor. It is true that physical health affects mental health. People who exercise regularly have better mental health and emotional well-being, and lower rates of mental illness. Exercise can improve your sense of control, coping ability, and self-esteem. People who exercise regularly often report how good achieving a goal makes them feel. Exercise increases your energy levels. If you don't feel like going to the gym then going for a leisurely walk, or activities like stretching and yoga can also have huge benefits on your mind and body. Exercise will give your mental health a boost. Thanks.

    • RE: Why do I get painful periods on flights?

@habala Hello, there have been reports of patients complaining that their menstrual periods get worse when they fly. But there haven’t been any scientific articles documenting this as a common occurrence among menstruating women. One theory is that prolonged sitting causes blood to pool in the lower half of the body and this decreased venous blood return to the heart can increase menstrual bleeding. Blood clotting usually is not affected by the altitude on plane flights because the cabin is pressurized. Unfortunately aside from more absorbent pads or tampons, there isn’t much to do about increased menstrual bleeding on plane flights. Thanks!

    • RE: Will Rogaine stop balding around my temples?

@kashv Hello, Minoxidil can most certainly help the frontal hairline and temples - especially in younger men and especially in the earliest stages of balding. Although it is called rogaine work on temples, all patients confirm that the best method for large and hereditary gaps is to transplant hair. You may not be able to prevent hair loss, but you can end baldness with hair transplantation.

    • RE: What are the side effects and complications of tooth implant surgery? Should I get an implant or a bridge?

@tirath Hello, most dentists recommend implants over bridges. Implants are superior to bridges for the following reasons:

      • Implants are independently seated and are not anchored to adjacent teeth. Therefore there is no damage to adjacent teeth as compared to the preparation for bridges.
      • Long-term viability is very good to excellent with no need to replace an implant if it is properly cared for.
      • Although implants have a more expensive initial cost. Implants rarely require revision but bridges may require additional work as they rely on the integrity of anchor teeth.
      • Implant can be removed without damage to adjacent teeth.
implants do carry disadvantages compared to bridges like implants carry all the risks associated with surgery including infection, nerve damage, poor wound healing, and Implants require more frequent follow-up. Thanks!!!

    • RE: Things to make sure during pregnancy if I have type-1 diabetes.

@payten Hello, During your pregnancy, you need to adjust your diabetes management plan. Blood sugar levels that stay high during pregnancy may cause your baby to grow too large (macrosomia) or harm the early development of organs and lead to birth defects. Women who have type 1 diabetes can have a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby, but it’s important to monitor diabetes that could worsen throughout pregnancy, such as high blood pressure, vision loss, and kidney disease. Other risks include Preeclampsia, Insulin resistance, Miscarriage, and Macrosomia. Women with type 1 diabetes can breastfeed their babies. Having diabetes may delay your ability to produce breast milk at first, but it should improve over time. Breastfeeding is an energy-consuming activity, just like physical activity. Careful planning and attention to your medical needs give you the best chance to stay healthy during pregnancy and have a healthy baby. Thank You!!

    • RE: Treatment for anemia.

@xtun Hello, iron-deficiency anemia is treated with:

      • Iron supplements are taken by mouth.
      • Foods are high in iron and foods that help your body absorb iron (like foods with Vitamin C).
      • Iron gave through an intravenous (IV) infusion.
      • Anemia is caused by internal bleeding, your provider may need to do surgery to stop it.
Some kinds of anemia, such as those that are inherited, cannot be prevented. However, you can prevent anemia caused by iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency, and vitamin B9 deficiency by eating well. This includes eating a diet with enough foods that provide iron and these vitamins, along with vitamin C food sources to help with the absorption. It is better to take the doctor's advice. Thanks!

    • RE: I haven't switched any product but why does my body itches?

Hello, it is better to contact a dermatologist. Contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction is the most likely source of an itchy skin lesion. Ringworm infections by the tinea species of fungus can appear as dark itchy spots. Pityriasis Rosea can also present as a dark/red spot on the skin and spread for weeks before resolving. Therefore, you will need to be examined by your primary care physician or a dermatologist to determine the cause of your lesions. Thanks!!
