@senjuti In fact, the American College of Rheumatology has added cognitive dysfunction to its list of diagnostic criteria for FM. However, the authors point out, this has proven difficult to study, in part because " 'executive functions' (EF) represent a multifaceted construct, composed of separable factors.... Considering EF as a whole would therefore not allow identification of subtle differences in cognitive complaints

@senjuti The authors explained how under current guidelines broad-spectrum antibiotics are prescribed to up to 10% of all newborns for suspected infections, with this 'over-prescription' aiming to ensure early treatment for those who are ultimately found to have an infection, as any delay may quickly become life-threatening. Experts argue though that, in most cases, the antibiotics are prescribed unnecessarily, as only a small proportion of those who receive the drugs are eventually diagnosed with an infection.

@senjuti It's estimated that about 2.8 million people in the United States receive medical care each year for a TBI, primarily as a result of road accidents, falls, assault, and sports injuries. Mild TBIs account for 80% to 95% of these cases. They are difficult to diagnose because routine tests, including imaging, fail to show changes in brain structure. Patients with TBI can experience behavioral, emotional, and cognitive impairments that could include memory and concentration deficits, poor executive function, depression, and anxiety. The brain trauma is also a risk factor for diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD). There is currently no proven effective treatment for TBI.

@senjuti The device serves two purposes: to monitor several health metrics and to alert when the mask has become inefficient for some reason due to poor fit, a leak, or deterioration. FaceBit measures heart rate and respiration based on temperature changes from breath. It uses pressure measurements to determine how well the mask fits and how long a person has been wearing it.

@senjuti In the acute phase of injury, pain management is initially required before rehabilitation. Sleeping with a pillow under the trunk and arm is often recommended to decrease tension in supraspinatus tendon. Injectable steroids are also prescribed as found suitable by the treating doctors. During recovery phase, pain free strengthening within range of motion and proprioception training is done. For partial or full thickness, surgical options are also available.

@senjuti The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lists the possible symptoms of a SARS-CoV-2 infection without specifying a variant. These are:
      fever or chills
      cough
shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      fatigue
      muscle or body aches
      headache
new loss of taste or smell
      sore throat
      congestion or runny nose
      nausea or vomiting
      diarrhea
However, the CDC notes this list is not exhaustive, and people might experience different symptoms or combinations of symptoms. Furthermore, anecdotal reports on social media and other platforms claim that more specific combinations of symptoms characterize Omicron infections.

@senjuti The Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 and its ability to be highly transmissible than the Delta variant has raised a lot of doubts among people over the efficacy of masks and their ability to provide protection. While such fears are well-founded, the fact also remains that multiple health care agencies including the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Centres for Disease Control (CDC), US and World Health Organisation (WHO) have recommended wearing masks, regardless of whether people are vaccinated or not. This is the right time for all to upgrade from the single-layer cloth masks or surgical masks and instead go for a double layer mask or embrace N95 masks, which could offer even more protection, public health officials said. Masks are not variant-specific and if worn well, then they can provide protection to individuals by filtering-out virus particles from the air that people breathe.

@senjuti Medications used to relieve migraine pain work best when taken at the first sign of an oncoming migraine — as soon as signs and symptoms of a migraine begin. Medications that can be used to treat it include:
Pain relievers. These over-the-counter or prescription pain relievers include aspirin or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others). When taken too long, these might cause medication-overuse headaches, and possibly ulcers and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.
Migraine relief medications that combine caffeine, aspirin and acetaminophen (Excedrin Migraine) may be helpful, but usually only against mild migraine pain.

Triptans. Prescription drugs such as sumatriptan (Imitrex, Tosymra) and rizatriptan (Maxalt, Maxalt-MLT) are used to treat migraine because they block pain pathways in the brain. Taken as pills, shots or nasal sprays, they can relieve many symptoms of migraine. They might not be safe for those at risk of a stroke or heart attack.
Dihydroergotamine (D.H.E. 45, Migranal). Available as a nasal spray or injection, this drug is most effective when taken shortly after the start of migraine symptoms for migraines that tend to last longer than 24 hours. Side effects can include worsening of migraine-related vomiting and nausea.
People with coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, or kidney or liver disease should avoid dihydroergotamine.
