Dry Cough for 3 months

my three months old baby girl suffering from a dry cough caused by a viral infection. I need advice on the treatment since the doctor insists that the healing will take a natural course i.e. without medication.

I swear by putting Vicks vapor rub on the bottoms of their feet and covering with socks. I do this whenever they have a bad cough at night and it always stops the coughing . Pls, give it a try.
