Hi, I am a 26-year-old male. Every night I have to wake up two to three times to urinate. What is the reason behind nighttime frequent urination? Is it kidney disease? Should I be worried?

@samarth Hello, If you urinate two to three times at night then you have nocturia. Nocturia is a condition in which you wake up during the night because you have to urinate. Causes can include high fluid intake, sleep disorders, and bladder obstruction. Frequent urination in the night may be a symptom of kidney disease. When the kidney filters are damaged, it can cause an increase in the urge to urinate. Sometimes this can also be a sign of a urinary infection or enlarged prostate in men. If you experience other symptoms like dry and itchy skin, see blood in urine, foamy urine, and muscle cramp then you may have kidney disease.
