Hey, I am a 43-year-old male. I constantly have a dry mouth even at night. Why do I have a dry mouth? Is it a symptom of diabetes? Is having a dry mouth indication of diabetes? Should I be worried?

@puneet-0 Hello, Yes one of the most common symptoms of diabetes is dry mouth. Dry mouth is a common symptom in both type 1 and types 2 diabetes. Not everyone with diabetes will experience it, though. You can also have a dry mouth if you don’t have diabetes. If you have a dry mouth and suspect you might have diabetes, you should talk to your doctor. Anyone can get a dry mouth, there can be other reasons as well like dehydration. If you have symptoms like blurry vision or urinate often then consult a doctor. Do you experience any other symptoms?

@mehak No, I don't have any other symptoms that could be an indication of diabetes.

@puneet-0 That's great so, it could be because of dehydration. If it doesn't get better do visit a doctor.
