Hey, I take allergy pills for my seasonal allergy. I have been taking these pills for months. I noticed I started having a dry mouth after I started taking these. I take levocetirizine to treat my allergy. I am a 39-year-old female. Do allergy pills cause dry mouth?

@rekha-0 Hello, Yes pills do cause dry mouth. Pills that are used for allergies, Parkinson’s, asthma, and overactive bladder cause dry mouth. You can prevent dry mouth by taking listed prevention-:

        • Drink 2 qt (2 L) of water a day. This is the same as eight 8 fl oz (250 mL) glasses of water.
        • Avoid caffeinated beverages, tobacco, and alcohol, all of which increase dryness in your mouth.
        • Breathe through your nose rather than through your mouth.
Your doctor can help you find a different medicine.
