Hi, I am 30 years old. I had tonsillitis. I recently recovered from tonsillitis. I haven’t smoked since I was diagnosed with tonsillitis. How long should I wait to smoke again after recovering from tonsillitis?

@bhanu Hello and welcome. I would suggest you make a healthier choice for yourself and quit smoking as it will damage your lungs and will affect your health. It may take 2 weeks for you to recover. Ask when you can drive or return to work. Do not smoke. Nicotine and other chemicals in cigarettes and cigars can prevent healing after surgery. I think you should quit smoking it wouldn't be that difficult as you said you haven't smoked since you were diagnosed with tonsillitis but, if you are facing difficulty then you may ask your doctor. He will tell you what needs to be done.
