Hi, I am 17 years old. I recently had my appendectomy. I had a swollen appendix and pain in my lower abdomen. I haven’t gone to school for a month now. I have my exams in a month now. How long does it take to recover from appendix pain?

@faiz Hello, a patient is often able to resume normal activities in one to three weeks. Open surgery may require about two to four weeks for recovery. With a ruptured appendix, it may take up to six weeks or more. Do contact your doctor once as you still have pain.
