Home remedies to treat pregnancy constipation.
-
Hello, I am a 28-year-old female. I am 6 months pregnant. It is my second pregnancy. I never felt constipated in my first pregnancy but I am feeling this time. Can suggest some home remedies as I don’t feel like eating sometimes because of being constipated. Can anyone suggest to me Home remedies for pregnancy constipation?

@katie Hello, constipation while being pregnant is because of hormonal changes. Hormonal changes, pressure on the womb, and the iron in prenatal vitamins are to blame. An increase in the progesterone hormone during pregnancy causes the relaxation of your body’s muscles. That includes your intestines. And slower moving intestines means slower digestion. This can lead to constipation. Pregnancy constipation can be cured by gentle and safe remedies.
- Eat more fiber (Taking fiber supplements or eating more fibrous foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, can increase the number of stools and facilitate their passage through the intestines).
- Drinking enough water is important to keep stool soft and easy to pass.
- Exercise (Getting regular exercise, with a doctor’s approval, can help relieve constipation).
It is important to speak with their doctor before taking any medication, including laxatives or other constipation remedies. Seeing a doctor is also advisable if any additional symptoms occur, like- nausea, constipation that lasts for longer than 1–2 weeks, stomach pain, and vomiting.
