Hello, I am a 20 years old female. I need help with my bulimia. I am very anxious about my weight and focused on having the ‘right’ body shape. I spend a lot of time thinking about food and I also engage in binge eating and then try to vomit. What should I do? How to treat it? Need help

@shweta-kapoor Hello, and welcome When you have bulimia, you may need several types of treatment, although combining psychotherapy with antidepressants may be the most effective for overcoming the disorder. Your doctor will perform a medical check-up and advice on how to get treatment. The primary treatment for bulimia often combines psychotherapy, antidepressants, and nutritional counseling.
The following types of psychotherapy help improve symptoms of bulimia-

        • Cognitive-behavioral therapy -help you normalize your eating patterns and identify unhealthy, negative beliefs and behaviors and replace them with healthy, positive ones.
        • Family-based treatment, and
        • Interpersonal psychotherapy
