Hello, I am a 29 years old male. My mother is suffering from potassium deficiency. She was suffering from diarrhea and felt weak. Doctor asked us to take some tests. Test reports showed potassium deficiency. Medicines were prescribed by the doctor. What can I include in her diet? Can anyone suggest to me some food that is rich in potassium?

@sabie Hello, Yes, potassium deficiency has many causes but usually results from vomiting, diarrhea, adrenal gland disorders, or the use of diuretics. A low potassium level can make muscles feel weak, cramp, twitch or even become paralyzed, and abnormal heart rhythms may develop. Here are some suggestions that you can give her along with medicines. Bananas, oranges, cantaloupe, honeydew, apricots, grapefruit (some dried fruits, such as prunes, raisins, and dates, are also high in potassium), Potatoes, Sweet potatoes, Mushrooms, and Peas. Juices like Orange juice, Apricot juice are also rich in potassium.
