Is canine tooth extraction painful?
-
Hello, for the last few weeks I have had pain in my canines. It all started with frequent sensations every then and now but the past few days back I have been having pain. It is not that chronic. I tried some remedies but nothing worked. Then I visited a dentist and he suggested canine extraction. Is canine tooth extraction painful?

@jessica Hello, don’t worry your dentist will give you anesthesia during the procedure to eliminate the pain. The anesthetic will not remove all sensations. You might feel movement and pressure, but you shouldn’t experience pain or sharpness. l anesthesia is typically used for a simple extraction, and you’ll be awake during the procedure. If your extraction was complex or required surgery of the gums and bone, your dentist may prescribe more powerful pain medication. Although different people heal at different speeds. You’ll most likely have tenderness and discomfort in the area of the extraction for 1–3 days. You may experience tightness and stiffness to your jaw and joint because of keeping your mouth open during the procedure. Although there’s pain involved with tooth extraction, your dentist or oral surgeon can eliminate that pain with local anesthesia and sedation medications during extraction.
