Hello, I am a 23 years old female. I was diagnosed with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) two years ago. As the number of ovarian cancers increased is I am at risk as I have Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). My periods were irregular and I gained some weight, so I got tested. Does a patient with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have a higher risk of developing ovarian cancer?

@situti Hello, There have been no studies in the medical literature that may link Polycystic Ovarian disease with Ovarian cancer. Obesity is a known risk factor for endometrial cancer as it also increases estrogen levels. Getting regular exercise and sticking to a healthy diet can help women lose excess pounds and minimize the risk of endometrial cancer, even with PCOS.
