Hello, I am a 28 years old female. I am 5 months pregnant. My elder sister, who is 7 months pregnant, is iodine deficient. I do not want to risk it. Can anyone suggest What I should eat during pregnancy to avoid deficiencies like Iodine? Thank you

@yashasvini Hello, Iodine during pregnancy is essential for your baby's developing brain, skeleton, and nervous system. You need more iodine than usual when you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Iodine is found in dairy products, eggs, and seafood – and about half of all table salt is enriched with iodine to prevent deficiencies. You probably won't need an iodine supplement during pregnancy as long as your prenatal vitamin contains iodine and you eat a balanced diet. Iodine also plays an important role in regulating your thyroid gland. A lack of iodine during pregnancy has been linked to an increased risk of miscarriage, preterm pregnancy, and stillbirth.
