Hello, I am a 26 years old male. My flatmate's mother is suffering from breast cancer. She is living with us and we are providing her proper care. Can anyone suggest the best things to eat? What are the best things to eat for breast cancer patients?

@sayam Hello, Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Lifestyle also plays a critical role, with research linking heavy drinking, smoking, estrogen exposure, and certain dietary patterns including Western diets high in processed foods to an increased risk of breast cancer. Eating a balanced diet is especially important when you have breast cancer. Proper nutrition may help your body heal from cancer treatment, which can have numerous side effects such as mouth sores, low appetite, nausea, and vomiting. There is no specific diet that is recommended for people with breast cancer. Nutrient needs may vary depending on many factors that include other medical diagnoses, your body weight, nutrient deficiencies, medications, and any symptoms that you’re currently experiencing. Food should be nutrient-dense foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, protein sources like chicken and turkey, fatty fish like trout or salmon, and plant-based protein sources like lentils and nuts. Foods should be high in healthy fats and protein. Avoid alcohol, smoking, spicy, acidic food. Thank you. Take care.
