Hello, I am a 19 years old female. I am 2 weeks pregnant. Is it true that breastfeeding reduces the risk of breast cancer? I gave birth to a boy a few months back. Will it reduce my chances of having breast cancer?

@tisha Hello, Yes, it does, though it is not completely clear why this is. Breastfeeding lowers the risk of developing breast cancer. Few researches show that Breastfeeding makes breast cells more resistant to mutations that can cause cancer. Breastfeeding isn't the only way to reduce your risk of breast cancer: exercise and healthy-eating help, too.
