Hello, We all know that cancer can be caused by a bad lifestyle like smoking, alcohol, and the food we eat. Is stress such a factor? If I am stressed can that increase my risk? I am 14 years old male. Thank you.

@kanish-1 Hello, No, being stressed doesn’t directly increase the risk of cancer. It’s very common to feel stressed, and it’s likely that everyone will feel stressed at some point. But people respond to stress in different ways. This can lead to changes in a person’s day-to-day routine that can impact their cancer risk. For some, stressful times can make it more difficult to be healthy. Stress can cause a number of physical health problems, the evidence that it can cause cancer is weak. Things like smoking, overeating, or drinking alcohol, increase a person’s risk for cancer.
