Hello, I tested positive for herpes 2 but I never had an outbreak. I’m 23 weeks pregnant. Is my unborn baby going to get it? I’m stressed. If I am herpes 2 positive then is there any possibility that my baby is also herpes positive?

@nina Hello, unfortunately, yes. If you have genital herpes, it’s possible to spread the virus to your baby. You can spread it to your baby while being pregnant, giving birth, or taking care of a newborn. Be sure your GYN knows that you have genital herpes so that precautions can be taken. Women with genital herpes can have healthy children. If you have genital herpes, precautions can help prevent your baby from getting the virus.
