Can I apply clotrimazole to ringworm to prevent further spread?

Hello, I am an 18 years old male. I have a ringworm on my right arm. First, my dad had ringworm on his left leg and now I have one on my right arm. He said that applying clotrimazole will help. Can I apply clotrimazole to ringworm to prevent further spread?

@suham Yes, applying topical antifungal medications like clotrimazole, miconazole, and terbinafine can help. You can apply it after cleaning the rash, apply a thin layer of antifungal medication to the affected area 2 to 3 times per day or as directed by the package. Spread the treatment beyond the border of the rash by a couple of centimeters and allow the medication to absorb into your skin. Although it’s a common skin infection, quick action is necessary to prevent the spreading of the fungus. You should also make sure you know how to prevent future infections.
