      my father is type 2 diabetic and just today the doctor said he had really really really high levels of potassium. he prescribed this medicine that my dad needs to take three times a day. What causes this?

        @nehal Did the doctor say it was related to his diabetes? Potassium is an electrolyte (along with sodium). If your Dad's blood sugar has been running high. It is usually happens when someone gets dehydrated. You do need to be sure that your dad gets plenty of liquids such as water to help keep him hydrated.
