Hello, I am 14 years old male. I have swollen ankles what do I do? Can anyone suggest to me what needs to be done? Yesterday it was my football match and today I woke up with swollen ankles. I know I shouldn't worry about it but wants to treat it as soon as possible. Any suggestion will be helpful. Thank You.

@deven Hello, The ankles and legs are common sites of swelling because of gravity’s effect on the fluids in the human body. Injuries and subsequent inflammation can also cause fluid retention and swelling. To treat a swollen ankle or leg at home here are some ways like:

        • Put ice on the swollen area as soon as you can for 15 to 20 minutes. Then repeat every three to four hours.
        • Wrap your ankle or leg snugly, but be sure not to cut off circulation. Support stockings may be an option.
        • Raise your ankle or leg above your heart (or as far above your heart as possible). Two pillows will usually give you the correct elevation. This encourages fluid to move away from your leg.
        • Consult your doctor if it doesn’t get better by home remedies. Thank you.
