    What causes nocturnal back pain? What should I do treat it?

      Hello, I am 23 years male. My back hurt a lot at night. Why do I have pain at night? What causes it? It makes me uncomfortable and at times I am unable to sleep and next I can’t even focus on my work. What can I do to treat it? Thank You.

        @edrei Hello, Nocturnal back pain is also a symptom of spinal bone infection and ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a condition that can cause the spine to fuse in a fixed, immobile position. The most common of which is disc degeneration. Discs are tissue between the vertebrae that function as a type of shock absorber; the discs can break down with age, Injuries such as sprains can cause nocturnal back pain.
        These few tips can help relieve symptoms so you can get the sleep you need.

        1. Sleep on your back- sleeping on your back may seem strange but the best position to sleep for back pain is on your back. To make this position even more comfortable place a pillow under your knees to take pressure off your back. If you’re a side sleeper pull your legs part of the way toward your chest and put a pillow in between your legs for support. Avoid sleeping on your stomach as it can worsen pain and put pressure on the spine.
        2. Heat things up. The heat helps loosen up stiff muscles and can reduce pain. Use a heating pad or take a warm shower or bath to soothe stiff sore muscles before bedtime. Just be sure to switch off the heating pad before you fall asleep to avoid burns.
        3. Change your mattress

        5. Talk to your doctor about medication. If back problems persist talk to your doctor about the possibility of adding a non-habit-forming medication to your bedtime routine. Over-the-counter medicines like ibuprofen and aspirin can help reduce pain enough to help you fall asleep and develop normal sleeping patterns.
