Hello, I am 40 years old female. I have been suffering from sciatica. I have been asking to do exercises that will help me in quick recovery. Can anyone suggest to me some exercises for sciatica pain?

@philomena Sciatica is a nerve pain that emanates from the inflammation of the sciatic nerve. The nerve is located on the lower back and is responsible for the transmission of sensations from the lower back area to the lumbar body section. The lumbar section encompasses the back and the upper leg area. The roots of the nerve are located at the lower part of the spinal cord and end just above the knees; making it the longest nerve in the human body. Any irritation to the nerve causes pain, which ranges from mild to severe.
Here are a few exercises that will help you

        • Reclining pigeon pose- The reclining pigeon pose is a common yoga pose. It works to open the hips. There are multiple versions of this stretch. The first is a starting version known as the reclining pigeon pose. If you’re just starting your treatment, you should try the reclining pose first.
        • Sitting pigeon pose
        • Forward pigeon pose
        • Knee to the opposite shoulder
        • Sitting spinal stretch
You should first take the therapist's help before performing any exercise.
