Hello, I am 15 years old female. Does insufficient sleep limit fat loss as I have been working out for the past two months but I am not taking 8 hours of sleep because of my exams? Can anyone tell me does insufficient sleep limits fat loss?

@jean Hello, it is true insufficient sleep limits fat loss and can even cause weight gain. The amount of human sleep contributes to the maintenance of fat-free body mass at times of decreased energy intake. Lack of sufficient sleep may compromise the efficacy of typical dietary interventions for weight loss and related metabolic risk reduction. Sleep deprivation can alter metabolism and increase food intake, weight gain, and cortisol levels. Therefore, getting enough sleep may help you increase facial fat loss.
