Hello, I am 28 years old female. My gynecologist prescribed me vitamin D3 and asked me for a diet full of vitamin D3 and B12. Can anyone tell me why she said so? What is the role of vitamin D3 in pregnancy?

@finn Hello, Vitamin D is important not only in pregnancy everybody needs vitamin D it helps us to absorb the right amount of calcium and phosphate. It is especially important in pregnancy as it helps your baby’s bones, teeth, kidneys, heart, and nervous system to develop. Vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy improves maternal vitamin D status and may reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia, low birth weight, and preterm birth. it helps us to absorb the right amount of calcium and phosphate.
