Hello, I am vitamin D deficient. What is the maximum amount of D3 supplement they can take per day? I am a 38 years old male. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

@prasant Hello, If you're taking a vitamin D supplement, you don’t need more than 600 to 800 IU per day, which is adequate for most people. Some people may need a higher dose, however, including those with a bone health disorder and those with a condition that interferes with the absorption of vitamin D or calcium, says Dr. Manson. Unless your doctor recommends it, avoid taking more than 4,000 IU per day, which is considered the safe upper limit. I would suggest switching to vitamin D3 rich food instead of vitamin D3. Please talk to your doctor and get blood work done then you’ll know how much Vitamin D3 supplement you can take.
