Hello, I have been prescribed tamsulosin for benign prostetic hypertrophy, also I am on cardiovascular treatment for my heart ailments. Is there any chance of drug interaction? I am 65 years old. However I forgot to mention this to my urologist.

@ananda Tamsulosin is a Alpha 1 a receptor blocker which relaxes the internal urethral sphincter. For prostatic outflow symptoms in men. Currently it is considered as a first line drug and improve symptoms in around 70% of patients. It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypotension and falls. The common side effects are orthostatic hypotension hypersensitivity dizziness and retrograde ejaculation. You should consult your health care provider before any alteration of dose or about information on interaction with other drugs you are being prescribed.
