What is the cause of stammering, and How can I cure it?

Hello, I am a 39 years old female. My 9 years old son stammers a lot. In our family, no one stammers. I don’t want to hamper his confidence. I am worried about him and trying to find out various ways to treat it. Can anyone tell me what causes stammering, and how can I cure it? Should I take her to the doctor? Please suggest something. Thank You.

@jina Hello, Most stammering develops during childhood and is a neurological, rather than a psychological, condition. Subtle changes within the brain result in physical difficulty in talking. Stammering is not caused by anxiety or stress. But people may stammer more when stressed or anxious. You should take him to speech therapy. Most children who start stammering in early childhood will stop stammering either spontaneously or through speech therapy. I hope it was helpful to you. Thank You.
