What should be the daily diet of a pregnant woman?
-
Hello, my wife is two months pregnant. Can anyone suggest what should be her daily diet? Doctor asked her for bed rest. She is 27 years old. Please suggest some food that I should include in her diet. Thank You.

@lakshh-0 Hello, aim for a balanced diet, with an appropriate blend of all the 5 food groups:
vegetables and legumes, bread and cereals, milk, yogurt and cheese, meat, poultry, fish, and fruits. Dairy products, especially yogurt, are a great choice. They help you meet increased protein and calcium needs. Include legumes as legumes are super sources of folate, fiber, and many other nutrients. Folate is a very important nutrient during pregnancy. You can include sweet potatoes, eggs, broccoli, leafy vegetables, and dried fruits. Thank You.
