      Hello, I frequently have ear pain and I talked to my doctor. He said it is because of ears wax build and I should prevent it. Please suggest to me some ways like what should I do to prevent an excess amount of earwax build-up? Thanks

        @peter-kevin Hello, earwax also called cerumen – is a substance naturally produced by the body to clean, protect, and lubricate the ears. Without earwax, the ears would be dry, itchy, and prone to infection. Yes, you are right, too much earwax can cause serious ear problems like earaches. Here are a few that will prevent the build-up of ear wax:-

        • You should avoid wearing earplugs or hearing aids for eight or more hours at night.
        • If you tend to have frequent earwax buildup, consider having a routine ear cleaning done by a healthcare professional every six to 12 months.
        • You can even apply mineral oil for 10 to 12 minutes and place it in the outer ear canal.
          Even though earwax is meant to protect you, a buildup of it can cause some intense discomfort, and at times even painful. Please take healthcare help in case of need.
