Hello, I am 18 years old, female. I wanted to ask is there any vaccine for malaria? I heard many people in our community are suffering from malaria and as it is spreading vastly I want to protect myself. Is there any vaccine for malaria? If yes, then please let me know.

@tashu Hello, There is no licensed vaccine against any human parasitic disease malaria. Most current vaccine candidates target a single stage of the parasite's life cycle and vaccines against the early pre-erythrocytic stages have shown the most success. A protein in the adjuvant vaccine, working through antibodies against sporozoites, and viral vector vaccines targeting the intracellular liver-stage parasite with cellular immunity show partial efficacy in humans, and the anti-sporozoite vaccine is currently in phase III trials. Although you can precautions to protect yourself from malaria. Apply mosquito repellent, Drape mosquito netting over beds, Put screens on windows and doors, Treat clothing, mosquito nets, tents, sleeping bags, and other fabrics with an insect repellent called permethrin, and Wear long pants and long sleeves to cover your skin. Thanks.
