Hello, I recently got to know that I have pubic lice. My question is will shaving pubic hair help me to get rid of them? Should I have to consult a doctor? Please suggest what should I do? I am worried about my partner as well. Is he at risk? Please let me know.

@zina Hello, No shaving pubic hair alone won’t help you. All hairy areas of the body should be thoroughly checked and treated because lice can move away from treated areas to other hairy parts of the body. Shaving won't get rid of pubic lice. Yes, you should avoid having physical contact with your partner as pubic lice can be spread. You typically get pubic lice by being physically close to a person who has them. It can be even spread through toilet seats also. You can keep the following things in mind Wash and dry clothing, bedding, and towels Finish treatment and check that the crabs are gone before resuming sex. Thanks.
