Hello, I am 19 years old female. My grandfather recently had cataract surgery and a few years back my grandmother also had cataract surgery. Please tell me what should I need to do to prevent cataract surgery in the future? I am worried. Please let me know in the comments. Thanks!

@kimm Hello, Cataracts are the clouding of the lens of your eye, which is normally clear. Most cataracts develop slowly over time, causing symptoms such as blurry vision. It can be treated through surgery. Cataracts are common among older people. More than 50% of people age 80 and older have had cataracts. Developing cataracts is a typical part of aging. You can take a few steps to protect your eyes like- You can quit smoking, wear sunglasses to protect your eyes, Get regular eye care. Have your eyes dilated once every two years after age 60. Surgery may be easier if you get treated sooner.
