Low iron and hemoglobin levels

I have had a serious iron deficiency. My hemoglobin was 8.2 and I was given multiple iron infusions and they can only get my hemoglobin up to 10. Now they have stopped all infusions and quit taking my iron pills at home. Hemoglobin still low, rbc low, white blood cells normal. The hematologist told me to come back in 2 months to check my blood levels again. Has anybody else had this problem. My energy levels are beginning to drop again.
