Should I avoid sugary food during pregnancy to prevent diabetes?
Hello, I heard a lot of women develop diabetes during pregnancy. I don’t know a specific reason why it happens but I want to know whether I should stop eating sugary food to prevent diabetes? I am 26 years old and I am 3 months pregnant. Let me know what should I do?
@tasneer Hello, no need to avoid but you should balance your diet to avoid future complications. Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar (glucose) that starts during pregnancy. For a balanced diet, you need to eat a variety of healthy foods. You should eat plenty of whole fruits and vegetables, moderate amounts of lean proteins and healthy fats, Moderate amounts of whole grains, such as bread, cereal, pasta, and rice, plus starchy vegetables, such as corn and peas, Fewer foods that have a lot of sugar, such as soft drinks, fruit juices, and pastries. You should talk to the doctor to plan your diet. Thanks.
