Chest pain after having coffee. Why?
-
Hello, I am 17 years old female. Is it common to have chest pain after drinking coffee? Is it even a thing or I am overthinking? Every morning when I have coffee after an hour or so I have chest pain. Why? Do you also experience chest pain after consuming coffee?

@nitu Hello, chest pain after having coffee means that you have coffee sensitivity. The intake of caffeine increases your body’s production of the stress hormone cortisol. This hormone is responsible for triggering the fight or flight response when there’s a perceived threat or intense ordeal. This hormone gets secreted by the adrenal glands when stimulated by both the pituitary and hypothalamus glands. Cortisol suppresses other bodily functions to elicit a swift response to danger and stress. Daily caffeine intake should never cause any form of chest pain. However, if you happen to have chest pain after having caffeine, it could be that you have caffeine sensitivity.
