How to manage hearing loss? How to help loved one?
Hello, I am 66 years old female. My husband who is 73 years old is suffering from Sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). Earlier symptoms that were detected were tinnitus and balance. Although he has a mild hearing loss. He is very devastated. How can I help him to manage? Please suggest how to manage hearing loss.
@kina Hello, hearing loss or sensorineural hearing loss is common and part of growing up. Here are a few things that you can do to help him which will make him heard- Converse with them face to face as Face-to-face conversation makes it very clear who you’re talking to.
Include him in conversation if he misses out on anything
Rephrase what you said if needed, Don’t shout, speak naturally, don’t get frustrated, consider other methods of communication like text. You can help your loved one actively take steps to improve their hearing that will make a lasting difference in their overall quality of life. One of the first ways would be recommending the use of hearing aids. Modern technology has come a long way in helping others take back their hearing and is only getting better.
