Hello, I have been experiencing Hard, dry stools and I also stay constipated for days. I am 58 years old male. I don’t feel good and fresh because of this. I visited a doctor as well please suggest some remedies or effective changes that will help me in curing hard bowel movements.

@stephen You may experience this because of the food you eat or it could be a lack of physical activity. Here are a few things that can help you-
- Stay hydrated- Being dehydrated regularly can make a person constipated. To prevent this, it is important to drink enough water and stay hydrated.
- Eat more fiber- increasing fiber intake increases the bulk and consistency of bowel movements, making them easier to pass. It also helps them pass through the digestive system more quickly.
- Exercise
- Add coffee to your diet
- Try prescribed over-the-counter medications
- Manage your stress.
If your constipation lasts more than a week and doesn’t respond to treatment, it’s time to see a doctor to rule out serious causes. See a doctor right away if your constipation is accompanied by dizziness, fatigue, cramping, or spasms. Thank You!
