Why people are diagnosed with Lung cancer even though they never smoked? Other ways Can get lung cancer besides smoking?

Hi, last week my husband coughing up blood. when we visited a doctor we came to know that he is diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer. He never smoked even though he never smoked. How is this possible?

@minipaliwal Hi, Being a non-smoker doesn't mean that you will never have lung cancer or be resistant to lung cancer, 20% of lung cancer patients had never smoked. Non-smoker’s lung cancer is extremely similar to smoker's lung cancer.
