Hello, I am 33 years old female. I am diagnosed with BV for the second time. The symptoms I developed this time were the same as before. I observed more discharge than normal and itching in the vaginal area. Is there anything that I can do to prevent BV? If it can be prevented then please comment. Thank You!

@cristinee Hello, Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a condition caused by changes in the number of certain types of bacteria in your vagina. BV is common, and any woman can get it. BV is easily treatable with medicine from your doctor or nurse. Here are some preventive measures that you can take-

        • Don’t douche
        • Limit your number of sex partners. Use protection. Always practice safe sex by using a condom with all of your sexual partners.
        • Use only water or mild soap to wash your genitals.
        • Wipe from front to back after you use the bathroom.
          Thanks.
