Hello, I am 20 years old with various health complications like type-1 diabetes, thyroid, and PCOS. I gained a lot of weight due to these health complications. My doctor asked me to take regular blood tests. I am confused about how often should I take a blood test? Should I take once a year or twice a year?

@rubi Hello, Doctors recommend patients have routine blood tests at a diagnostic testing center at least once a year, at around the same time as other physical examinations. If you have a chronic illness, you should get tested more often. The same is true when you experience persistent or unusual symptoms, such as fatigue, skin or nail abnormalities, hair loss, or weight gain. With health complications like diabetes, thyroid, and PCOS you should definitely get your blood work done once a year.
